The creation of the various objects entailed middle-of-the night searches in dollar stores and an auto parts store. When we asked for radiator hose the sales person asked us, “What size?” He gave us a rather strange look when we replied “Macaroni size.” When we discovered the floor mat section and squeezed the mats into odd shapes mumbling “Bow-ties…” the salesman backed away, a look of worry on his face.

Yards of Corduroy became the texture for ricotta and tortellini shells.
