These rocks were built for the Spoleto Festival. Rock shapes were first carved in low density Styrofoam. Then we applied a specially formulated RIMspray that was both translucent and could stand 200 degrees. When complete, the foam inside the RIM was removed with an acetone wash. In the final display they were internally lit.
